Dermaplaning

Dermaplaning

Dermaplaning (also known as epidermal leveling) is the process that removes the top layers of your skin which consists of dead and dry layers, as well as removing peach-fuzz hairs. By removing the top dead layers of the skin, this treatment will reduce fine lines and some wrinkles, as well as make the skin’s surface look smooth and glowing. Dermaplaning is a safe treatment and suitable for all skin types, which has no downtime. This treatment will help your make up sit better on your skin as it has more direct contact by removing the peach-fuzz little hairs.

WHAT IS DERMAPLANING?

Dermaplaning is a treatment that removes the superficial layer of the skin, leaving a more refined appearance. It is also ideal for individuals who want to remove their peach fuzz/ vallus hairs leaving skin super smooth and hair free.  There is No downtime with this treatment and results can be seen instantly!

COMMON DERMAPLANING TREATMENTS

The area of concerns, or the most commonly treated area with dermaplanning is generally the full face, covering the forehead, cheeks, upper lip and chin area.

How it works

Dermaplaning is an effective and safe exfoliation procedure.  It uses a sterile surgical scalpel to shave the surface of the skin to remove excess dead skin and peach fuzz hairs. The tool is held at a 45 degree angle and is brushed along the skin to remove the hair and skin cells.  It is generally a stand-alone procedure, and it allows for better absorption and effects of  your skincare products. The procedure makes skin look and feel smoother.

Since dermaplaning only targets the vellus hair (peachfuzz) the hair will grow back the same size and colour.  It is physiologically impossible for the hair to grow back thicker and dark. So there is no need to worry about the hair on your face getting any darker or thicker.
